Total rip-off

Bid on a poster reproduction estimated by SAA in Live Auctioneers between USD400 and USD600. In view of the estimate-clearly displayed on the auction page, in good faith, I expected poster to have some sort of value... Naively maybe, because they are called Seized Asset Auctioneers, I also expected piece to be of a certain age... Well, the poster I received is of shockingly poor quality (e. g. the sides look like they have been cut by hand, as lines aren't even straight). There is absolutely no way its value is near the SSA estimate! A quick search online for a giclée print of that size returns a price of USD50 approximately... I did become suspicious before I received poster though, as it took 2 calendar months to get the piece delivered-apparently the "original" one got damaged and needed to be replaced... which makes me think, have these guys even got right to reproduce and sell artwork? Ah and did I mention I was told the poster would be delivered via UPS but in end it came through US postal services... Which probably explains the fact it took one month + for the poster to arrive - I did bid with another auction house in the meantime and got that other poster in 2 weeks ! So to summarise: the product is of poor quality, the delivery was appallingly slow and the auctioneer is totally dishonest - blatantly lying about the estimate (now for their defence, they T & C stipulate that their estimate is arbitrary...!). Of course I might have been unlucky but I would strongly recommend you stay away.
