Richard had creative and innovative solutions to various design challenges presented.

Richard stepped in after we fired our previous architect and after construction had already commenced. One of the principal design elements for the house was a central spiral staircase. Richard designed the staircase using stainless steel, wood and nautical cables and we wound up with a real showpiece. He also worked on other design elements and materials in connection with the completion of the project. Richard is very responsive to comments and stated preferences. Every time I have worked with him (including in connection with an office remodel for my law firm), he has had creative and innovative solutions to the various design challenges presented. He has also been very cost-conscious in his approach to design and selection of materials. Richard was always a problem solver. He had to be, since he stepped in the middle of an already started construction project. He approached each challenge with a good attitude and was very constructive in suggesting solutions and alternatives. He was on site during construction and represented my interests very well. I would highly recommend Richard. I find him to be creative, knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and personally invested in the projects he takes on.

Richard provided a post modern design that beautifully paid tribute to our 1950's home.

Richard designed an auxiliary building to augment and supplement the main house, so that it was an accommodation for guests, but also a space we could use daily as an office and a television screening room. We wanted the design to reflect the main house which was built in the 1950's. Richard was able to take our wishes and design a structure that was consistent with them and added his own creativity to the project. He was able to do a post modern design that beautifully paid tribute to the main house, but reflected a modern design as well. Within those requirements, he totally succeeded and maintained his own creative identity at the same time. After his design was completed and accepted for construction, Richard worked alongside the contractor we hired, and monitored the construction process. He was very attentive and even modified his rate when the construction was prolonged due to the contractor ordering windows different than the ones Richard intended, and the whole project was on hold until the correct windows arrived a month later. Richard provided all the phases of design and service from beginning to end.
