We were told during sales call with them that our mom could receive up to $1250 benefit from the VA if our mom qualified. She clearly met all the eligibility requirements stated on their website. We paid $1575 for them to help us process the paperwork. After a month of working to collect all of the documents necessary, We were informed that in order to get this $1250, our mom would have to pay $1530 a month for care. We were told this was not a benefit that it was a reimbursement of up to $1250 towards her caregiver each month. The caregiver sent in her signed and witnessed document to them early in the process stating that she only did one hour per day for care. The rest of her care if needed, was done gratis because she is a friend of moms. Our case worker said Nothing about the form other than we should put down maybe two hours one day here and there on the form. We we're told at the very end of the process by our case workers supervisor that The caregiver had to put $1530 on the form or we would not be able to get the $1250. This was never brought up during the sales call or with our caseworker during the entire month worth of phone calls. During the entire course of the month the caseworker never mentioned this once. All that was said was at 100 years old she needs more care. We told them upfront at the very beginning that Care was being given mostly as a friend and companion and that mom was only paying her $200 a month. They were fully aware of this fact. Resolution Sought They stated they give us a 50 refund which we requested yesterday in writing to them and we are asking for the other half to be refunded. If this doesn't happen the family is going to have to all chip in to put this money back. Mom was very scared to pay this money to begin with we can't tell her she won't get it back.
